Thomas Edison National Historic Site
Thomas Edison spent his days working and living in West Orange, New Jersey. Today, his home and laboratory make up the Thomas Edison National Historic Site (nps.gov). Begin your visit with a self-guided or ranger-led tour of the Laboratory, with its 20,000 square feet of exhibit space. Demonstrations include a tour of the chemistry lab, information on using a phonograph and a look at the Black Maria motion picture machine. The lab's visitor's center offers passes that allow guests to explore the grounds of Glenmont, Edison's home.
