Six Flags Great Adventure
Six Flags Great Adventure (sixflags.com) offers rides ranging from wild to mild at its central South Jersey location in Jackson. Try Batman the Ride, which zooms 54 feet into the air while you're strapped into a seat, your feet dangling. Soar through the air at 80 miles per hour on Nitro or try the gentler Rolling Thunder, which is a classic wooden roller-coaster. The park also features a 350-acre Wild Safari with 1,200 different species of animals on view, including giraffes, zebras, lions and bears.
